East Coast Trip, Rochester/AC/Detroit

I figured I would take a few minutes to give you guys the rundown on the East Coast shows me and DJ Hollywood did this past weekend.  After visiting some family in Connecticut, I travelled up to Rochester, NY on Thursday.  The ROC baby!!! (for those who don't know that's the airport code there, not Jay Z's ROC) DJ Jestyr scooped me up and got me all situated at the hotel.  Hollywood was delayed from Vegas, but when he got in we all went for a little barbeque Rochester style! They all tried to get me to try a "garbage plate", I guess its a local favorite but I kept hearing my trainer's voice in my head saying 'don't do it Hope!' hahahaha!  Heat is Jestyr's spot, and Hollywood has played it numerous times, but it was my first.  The crowd was great! Its an 18 and up pot, but trust me we were not drinking apple juice my friends!!!  Great vibe there and a nice patio so the club has an indoor/outdoor feel to it.

I think I caught a couple hours sleep but who knows, it was up early and on our way to AC.  Now normally goin' to AC you fly to Philly, but for some reason there's no direct ROC to Philly flight so we had to fly into JFK.  Harrah's AC sent a limo to come get us.  Our limo driver was this sweet old guy named Chuck who loved Lou Rawls!  So we burned him a disc of "You'll Never Find" on it and he was in heaven the whole drive!

Atlantic City was great.  Harrah's is a beautiful hotel and they really know how to treat you.  Wish I had recorded our convo with the girl who checked us in cuz she would NOT stop talking!!!!!! It was funny!  She attempted to give us a free pass to The Pool...uh, I don't think we'll need that, we're the DJ's!!  The Pool was a great spot, a glass domed pool that becomes a Night Club when the sun goes down.  Howard Weiss is the GM there and I used to work with him when he was the GM of L.A.X. in Vegas.  It was good catching up with him and reliving some old stories!!  But, it was time to create some new stories!  After my set Asher Roth ("I Love College") performed with his DJ, DJ Wreckineyes, a real cool kid with some major talent!  After that Hollywood took over and...well it was OVER!!!  Atlantic City...you've been ROCKED!!! (oh by the way, my Flip cam crapped out on me sometime during the night, so I couldn't record any more video...its fixed now)

So we then headed out the next afternoon for the final leg of our trip, Detroit. The MGM sent a limo to get us from the airport. Now I do have to say, Detroit people were EXTREMELY friendly (except for one bitter woman working the buffet, but we let that slide). Joe Bravo, who Hollywood and I worked with at Pure in Vegas is the GM of V at the MGM. V is a great spot, intimate club with a great crowd. We ran into a cool muther fucker named Tony who had a table on stage next to us. We drank with him all night and introduced him to a bunch of girls having a bachelorette party....so....yeah!! Detroit was AWESOME, and looks like I will be back there sometime in September or October, I'll let you know.

Getting Started

All I can say is WOW the DJ'ing world has changed. The ability to easily connect with people from all over in a meaningful way is an amazing thing (and for me a bit intimidating to be honest). Hopefully my with my new website here linking together all of my on-line communication we can all stay in touch, you with me and me with you. Whether you are a fan, a fellow DJ or both, I hope to be able to make this an interesting place for you to follow my journey through this crazy business!
